Rev. Rebecca Chancellor Sicks

Rebecca has been serving as an Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Dallas since February 2017. Previously, she served churches in Austin, TX, Portland, OR, and Salina, KS. Primarily raised in Stillwater, OK, Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education at Oklahoma State University. Rebecca went on to earn her M.Div. at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, spending one year as a Seminary Intern at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth. She was ordained to the ministry of Word and Sacrament at University Presbyterian Church of Austin. Rebecca and her husband, James, both have roots in youth ministry and met Mo-Ranch Presbyterian Assembly while leading a high school youth conference.    

Rebecca is passionate about the full involvement of children and youth in the life of the church and has a heart for intergenerational ministries, worship, faith formation, mission, and building relationships. She loves the people at First Presbyterian Church and feels privileged to serve with such generous, inclusive and gracious people. Rebecca enjoys a good cup of coffee, hiking, running, cooking, spending time with her husband James and their daughter, reading, traveling, and eating chips and salsa.
