“At week’s end, the group had seen at least 655 patients—the oldest 104 years old, the youngest 21 days. Some of the team gave a presentation on hygiene and coming of age issues to young women at the high school.”
Volunteers are needed for several weeks this summer to help with the Summer Kids Club program. This is the program that The Stewpot—a ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Dallas—manages each year where around 70 low income elementary children participate in enrichment activities.
“Helping Dallas feed those individuals who are experiencing homelessness is an honor,” says Brenda Snitzer, executive director of the Stewpot. “We aim to provide support for as many of those individuals as possible, and a large part of that support is meal assistance.”
