Mi Escuelita Celebrates New Frank Diaz Campus

Mi Escuelita is celebrating the renaming of it’s Good Shepherd location to the Frank Diaz Campus.  First Presbyterian Church of Dallas is happy to celebrate with Mi Escuelita, who also has two children that meet in our building throughout the week.   Rev. Frank Diaz was one of the early visionaries of Mi Escuelita along with founders Carolyn Strickland and Helen Pena. It was founded in 1978 as an outreach of El Divino Salvador Presbyterian Church near White Rock Lake.  Diaz also then served as a Parish Associate for Mission here at First Presbyterian Church of Dallas from 2000 to 2008.  Coincidentally, the preschool being renamed is the original site of Good Shepherd preschool where FPC’s ties have been numerous. These ties include supporting Good Shepherd through mission dollars, through members who served on their board, and through members who grew up there and taught at the preschool.  Now it has come full circle with FPC member Rosie Hernandez serving as the site director for that Mi Escuelita Campus.  We are so happy to celebrate with Mi Escuelita!

Anyone and all ages are welcome to the Dedication Ceremony and to tour the campus and playground.
